What’s better than a qualitative Christmas Movie with an enchanting story that will warm even the tougher? So, to make things easier for you we have gathered the best out of the best Christmas Movies to make you feel the Christmas spirit and laugh or… cry!
5- Home Alone
If there is a chance you haven’t watched Home Alone so far, we are very sure that you will love this film. It’s on the more comical side but the Christmas Spirit it’s still here. The plot follows Kevin, a brave kid that separated from his family during Christmas Holidays.
Staying back alone was looking fun initially but after some risky -and hilarious- adventurous he wanted to reunite with his big and lovely family. The movie has everything in the package: humour, cuteness, family, and Christmas spirit. Everyone that watches it for the first time is a lucky guy although we watch it every year anyway!
4- The Polar Express
The Polar Express is an animation film that literally touches our hearts. I remember watching this movie when I was a kid and now watching it again every year and feeling the same magical feeling about it.
The story of The Polar Express is about a young boy that takes a trip to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. On the path, he learns a lot of significant things that depend on the Christmas Spirit. The voice of Tom Hanks makes the movie even more interesting and unforgettable.
What has stayed in our minds from this film is the quote: “Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see.”
3- A Christmas Carol (2009)
We don’t think someone can make a list of the best Christmas Movies without adding this classic masterpiece. The film is also an animation about the famous and heartwarming story written in one of Charles Dicken’s novels.
The story focuses on an old and stingy man that achieves self-redemption after spirits show him the world from a different angle. This taught him a lot of things -including the Christmas Spirit- and made him a different person.
Now more than ever, Scrooge loves helping others and also enjoying Christmas. The film makes you feel goosebumps as it gives a rough point of view about life, solidarity, and family and make you want to help others. That’s the Christmas Spirit after all!
2- It’s a Wonderful Life
The right word to describe this film is classic. You can not go wrong with this movie during the Christmas Holidays. Its story is enchanting and heartwarming and will really make you feel the Christmas Spirit.
The plot is fascinating: an angel helps a middle-aged businessman learn the real value of life by showing him the world without him. A memorable quote from a scene in the film is: “Remember, George: no man is a failure who has friends”.
The overall experience of watching this movie is incredible and the film is rightly considered one of the best Christmas films ever created. It’s a masterpiece!
1- Elf
In Number 1 of our favourite Christmas Movies, you can find Elf. The movie was released in 2003 and since then it remains stable in every top list of the best Christmas Movies.
The performance of Will Ferrel, the humoristic aspect of the scenario, the great direction from Jon Favreau, and of course the amazing story make this film a real must-watch for everyone. The plot follows an elf (that is a little bigger than usual) that tries to find his biological father in New York.
Besides getting to know him, Elf has to get him into the Christmas Spirit and change both their lives forever. An amusing adventure with a lot of comedy that will please every family!
Considering the amount of good (and bad) Christmas Movies we had to make hard decisions to select only the top 5. At the end of the day, it’s just personal preference and we are sure that countless other Christmas Movies will also make you feel the Christmas Spirit.
