From where i lived, we start the Christmas season very early. But for me, i can feel the Holiday season is already started when i get to eat or drink something i can eat only during christmas season.Β

One of my fave is the purple rice cakes or what we call "puto bumbong". You can really tell that Christmas is fast approaching when these little treats are being sold on the side streets.Β

I would like to hear your faves too!

The food I always associate with Christmas is definitely Rice. Any way it is prepared. We have jollof rice, fried rice, rice and stew. And of course chicken. What is Christmas without chicken? (lol) Drinks.... every and any you can think of. Christmas is really the best season because it's all fun and laughterΒ

I haven't tried any of the Jollof Rice or the puto bumbong but after looking them up, I now want to try them. I love food and at Christmas in the UK, Turkey is associated with Christmas meals. You can get it all year but you only really hear about people eating it at Christmas. I have to admit though, I prefer Chicken. I find Turkey is too dry.Β

My family buys a few different types of meat such as Turkey, Gammon, and Beef so that we have a choice. There are loads of us who get together and not everyone likes certain meat.

As for what reminds me of Christmas, I would have to say 'pigs in blankets' which are basically sausages wrapped in bacon which they only really sell at Christmas and are known for being on Christmas meals. You can make your own any time of the year of course but the shops sell them at Christmas already wrapped.

These go very fast as all of us love them, Especially my two sons πŸ˜€Β
