No, I believe an experience should not influence our mindset because as humans we can only hope for the best but circumstances can come up that we do not expect or foresee but at the end, it's one of the various aspects of life and the joy of the season should not elude us as the Christmas season is all about hope, love and joy. What do you think?

I think you are right. I remember a dear one getting sick on Christmas day. Like she went into coma. That was a very sad Christmas for us but at the same time, I don't want that to define how I celebrate my Christmas. I don't look at the sad part but I savour all the amazing memories.
